Weight Loss Support and Help

Whether you've tried and failed at weight loss or if this is the first time you're trying, then here's the honest scoop. You do not need to starve yourself, work out, exercise like crazy, avoid eating out, eat pre-packaged meals, or be stressed about it. There are some simple guidelines to follow.

First and foremost is having a plan, including your goals as well as a healthy and effective way to lose weight for you.

There is no magic in weight loss products. I'll not list all of them here because their advertising is ubiquitous. Want to lose weight? Much of what it's about is in your head.

Hypnotherapy makes following these tips and guidelines easy. Deep from within you'll actually desire and enjoy them. You'll be able to remember them, shape to your particular lifestyle and situation, and follow them as if they're second-hand. What can be cooler than that?

Water
Pretty simple huh? But not as much as you might think. As a general population, Americans our basically dehydrated. We simply do not drink enough water. It's a statistical fact and a medical one.

There are 2 things that drinking the proper amount of water will do for you.
1. Drink a 10 oz glass of water shortly before eating. Then when you sit down to the table you won't feel like eating as large a meal as you're accustomed to.
2. Water cleanses your system on so many ways. So much so that people who drink XX XX-glasses of water a day have better health and even live longer lives. (Coffee, tea and other water based beverages don't count!)

Is it 3 Meals, 3 Times a Day OR 5 Meals 5 Times a Day?
Actually both. First, it's very important to the dieting process to not skip meals. Period. Breakfast most important at all. Be sure to eat 3 meals a day. But better still is to have 3 small meals and 2 snacks per day. And it's important to that you have your meals and snacks at the same time each day.

Don't eat and do other things, like reading, texting, driving, working, watching TV, etc. It's too easy to eat too much when you're distracted by other things. So chill, relax. And chew each bite more. It not only helps digestion but also helps you enjoy each bit.

Pop Quiz: How much exercise is needed to lose weight?
A. Rigorous, 3-5 times/week
B. Moderate workout 3-4 times a week
C. Walking, exercising 3-5 times a week
D. Any

The answer is D. Of course much depends upon your goals, your age, your health, and more. But the fact is that any level of activity helps considerably with weight loss. It does not have to be a gym or going out and getting a treadmill or expensive exercise shoes, or Pilates or anything of the sort.

First, put the word "exercise" out of your head. Why use a word that, quite frankly, connotes an activity that mean of us don't like. "Activity" is more the proper way to refer to it. It's proven in the psychological community that what you say to yourself directly relates to how you feel. This is the essence of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (talk therapy).

Whether you call it activity or walking or biking or whatever, if you'll refer to it by name instead of as "exercise" then you want find yourself dreading it, and better still may look forward to it.

So, What is Activity?
Glad you asked! Whatever you can handle is the best answer but not so much to wear you out or be upleasurable. Activity has a plethora of health benefits from a healthier heart and cardiovascular system to increased energy, relief of stress, and more. But most importantly for a dieter is that you burn calories.

No matter what the TV commercials say there is no magic pill. But they make a lot of money saying it is. Some of the most atrocious are those claiming that you don't need to burn calories. Hogwash. It's a long-established, proven scientific fact that weight loss and weight management involves some limitations to calorie intake as well as activity to burn off calories and fat.

Back to the original question: what is activity? Walking is the easiest and quite effective. If the weather's not cooperative then try the mall, a big box home improvement store will work in a pinch if you don't have a mall. Ten minutes around the store is activity.

It's important to point out that activity doesn't necessarily need to be all at once. You can break it up into a few minutes a few times a day. Activity is activity even if it's a 10-15 minute walk a day is better for you than nothing at all!

Soon you'll be able to go for longer too. You'll find yourself actually enjoying it. You may want to increase it or even take on a treadmill or stationary bike, etc.

That's again where hypnotherapy comes in. When you go through my hypnosis program you'll discover the powers of your subconscious. You'll come away without urges to eat, avoid over-eating, actually enjoy activities, and much more.

A few more ways to increase your activity and calorie-burning efforts:
 

  • Don't park close to the store, park near the back and walk. (Admittedly not a good idea in heavy rain or snow and cold.)
  • Take stairs instead of the elevator. If you're going to, say, the 4th floor if you can't do the whole thing then walk up the second and then take the elevator to the 4th. If someone says anything just say loud and proud that you're getting exercise in. For the most part will say, or think, way cool--good for you!
  • There are any number of charitable organizations that have walks for charity. Sign up and walk as much as you can and stop. It's not about winning. It's about helping yourself and at the same time as helping others.
  • If you have a beach in your area take a walk. It's refreshing for the soul and is active. How about a lake? A pond? A park? Remember it's not a race. Start slow and work your way up.
  • Sex. No explanation needed.

Calories? Really??
Scientific fact #1: In order to lose weight you must reduce caloric intake and burn off more calories than you take in.
Scientific fact #2: See scientific fact #1.

There is nothing to fret over this. Once you learn how to do it then it will become second nature. With hypnosis it becomes first nature! Here's a good site to determine how much your body needs in calories. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/calorie-calculator/NU00598/

The last tip for you is the easiest of all.
Chew sugarless gum. Not only does this help to ward off cravings it more importantly helps to speeds up the digestion, thereby burning more calories.

Keep in mind that all of the above are tips and support. You first need to set goals and determine what type of weight loss plan is going to work best for you.
